Ben Haynes managed to convince me that I should try writing songs, despite the fact that I could barely play the guitar at the time.  When I pulled my first  song together it was Ben who encouraged me to carry on and who eventually helped me record the four songs of my first EP.  He was adept at making production suggestions that complemented the overall sound, but without pressurising me into anything.  The atmosphere was relaxed and he makes a great cup of tea.  The result was exactly what I wanted – a professional sound, achieved in a short space of time.  Ben can also turn his hand to most instruments, so if you need a session player he can fulfill that role too!
