I specialise in song and album production for solo artists, singers and songwriters.
What a good music producer does is take your song all the way from your rough demo recording to a fully produced, professionally mixed track. And that’s what I do.
The process is simple:
* Send me a demo over email, or if you live locally, pop in to record a guide vocal and guitar.
* I then get onto an arrangement using real instruments and send you short MP3 clips so you can approve the direction it’s going in.
* You record the vocals, either here with my top quality microphones and as much time as you like (and the best tea ever), somewhere local to you, or even at home if you have decent recording equipment.
* When you’re happy with absolutely everything, it goes to my colleague James who will provide a professional standard mix.
But it’s not just a sausage machine process. I like to engage with the artists first, which is why I always arrange a meeting over email or Skype or in the pub at the start of any project to gauge what your hopes are, how you’d like the songs to sound and, importantly, so we’re not going into this as strangers.
You have as much time as you need to get everything spot on and nothing leaves the recording studio until you are delighted with the result. Have a read of these testimonials from recent artists I’ve produced.
Current price is £300 per song. You basically get me until your song is absolutely perfect.
Location is no problem. The studio is based in Spondon, UK, (in the East Midlands between Derby and Nottingham), but we have recorded and produced artists from all over the world, including the USA, Holland and Africa!
Here’s a blog post to find out more about production for singers and songwriters.
